How Many TESDA Courses Can You Take at the Same Time?

For face-to-face courses and scholarship programs offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), you can only take one course at a time. But, if you are looking at TESDA Online Program (TOP) courses, you may actually enroll in multiple self-paced online courses at the same time, because you can study on your own schedule, anytime, anywhere. No classroom. No fixed schedule. Just you, your device, and your commitment.

But, if you’re chasing better work, higher income, or a second chance, remember this: finishing one course completely is better than starting five and finishing none. Experts recommend working and finishing one course at a time even for TOP, though you certainly can take them all at the same time if you are wired that way.

Taking TESDA Courses

Taking TESDA courses is one of the most practical ways to learn job-ready skills without spending a lot of money. Whether you study through the TESDA Online Program or attend face-to-face training, the goal is simple: to help you qualify for real work locally or abroad. If you want a fresh start, a higher income, or better credentials, TESDA gives you a clear and structured path forward.

Some of the benefits of taking TESDA courses, include:

  • Gaining practical, hands-on skills employers actually look for
  • Receiving nationally recognized certificates (like NC II)
  • Access to free training through TESDA scholarship programs
  • Improving chances of local and overseas employment
  • Upgrading skills if you’re an OFW or returning worker
  • Starting a small business using technical skills learned
  • Building confidence through structured learning and assessment
  • Studying online for free through the TESDA Online Program (TOP)
  • Addition of credentials to your resume without a 4-year degree
  • Taking multiple courses over time to increase qualifications

If you’re serious about improving your income and job stability, TESDA training is one of the smartest low-cost investments you can make in yourself.

So, How Many TESDA Courses Can You Take at the Same Time?

Here are the rules:

1. If You’re Taking Face-to-Face TESDA Training

You can usually take only one course at a time because of the attendance tracking system in the TESDA BSRS system. This system monitors your participation, especially if you’re under a scholarship.

It is highly recommended to:

  • Finish your current training
  • Complete your assessment
  • Get your certificate
  • Then apply for the next course

If you try to enroll in two in-person classes at once, you may face scheduling conflicts or disqualification from your scholarship.

2. If You’re Under a TESDA Scholarship

If you’re funded under government scholarships like:

  • TWSP
  • STEP
  • PESFA

You are strictly not allowed to enroll in multiple courses at the same time.

You must:

  • Complete the course
  • Pass the assessment
  • Then apply for another scholarship

There is something called “Multiple Availment,” but this only applies if courses are taken one after another, not simultaneously—and usually if they are related to higher-level qualifications.

3. If You’re Using the TESDA Online Program (TOP)

Here’s the good news. You can enroll in multiple free online TESDA courses at the same time through the TESDA Online Program (TOP).

Because:

  • The courses are self-paced
  • There is no fixed classroom schedule
  • You manage your own time

However, just because you can enroll in many doesn’t mean you should. If you overload yourself, you might:

  • Lose focus
  • Fail to complete requirements
  • Miss getting your Certificate of Completion

It’s often smarter to:

  • Focus on one course
  • Finish it properly
  • Then move to the next

Slow progress is still progress.

Special Cases: Bundled Programs

Some training centers offer “bundled” programs. This means you enroll once but work toward multiple qualifications during the same training period. That’s allowed because it’s structured as one official program.

Always ask the training institution (TVI) directly if you’re unsure.

What About Assessments?

Good news here: there is no limit to how many times you can take assessments for different qualifications. If you finish different courses over time, you can apply for assessments separately.

Now choose wisely—and start.
